As a Cultural Care local childcare consultant (LCC), I invite our host families and au pairs as well as those considering Cultural Care Au Pair to explore my site and learn about what is going on in our community. I provide year-round support to host families and au pairs, and also talk to families considering the program to help them determine if Cultural Care Au Pair is the right childcare solution for them.
How I got started:
After having twins, I found it difficult to return to work as a teacher, and because my husband is a pilot, his schedule kept him away much of the week. After almost two years of trying different childcare options, a friend suggested we consider an au pair.
I was attracted to the idea of exposing my children to a second language and sharing my knowledge as an ESL and English Teacher, but I really liked the idea of having someone here at the house who was flexible and could work some evenings.
So I contacted a Consultant here and started looking at au pair profiles! We ended up hosting three au pairs over the course of several years, and they are all near and dear to my heart.
After experiencing the relationships that developed, the cultural exchange, and the care my family received, I felt that others needed to know more about the au pair program. Being a host mom and a Consultant, I can answer any questions you may have about the program. It may not be the best option for your family, but you deserve to know your options.
